When founder Andrew Hands returned to Australia after building a successful timber flooring business in the UK, he considered taking a different path. It was his grandmother who offered the advice that shaped Perfect Timber Flooring: “Why reinvent the wheel when you already know what you’re so good at?”

Taking that encouragement to heart, Andrew launched Perfect Timber Flooring in Sydney more than 20 years ago. The small local team has since grown into a trusted specialist crew with a primary focus on the Northern Beaches, while servicing the North Shore, Inner West and Hills District — delivering beautifully finished floors for homes, renovations and insurance projects.

In the early days, inspired by Andrew’s caring nature, a key person in his life suggested a simple phrase for the back of the team shirts: “laid by caring hands.” The words captured how they approach every job, and the crew embraced them as a promise to clients. Today the motto is embroidered on every shirt — a quiet reminder to treat each floor as if it were their own.

With decades of experience in installation, sanding and polishing, Andrew remains hands‑on in the business—on site for key stages, guiding method and finish. His presence and mentorship set the standard, while the in‑house team manages every step from preparation and levelling to finishing and long‑term aftercare.
